Hip Pain
Hips
4–8 visits over 3–6 weeks
First visit $59, 60 minutes
Hip pain often involves the joints of the pelvis, the lower back, or the muscles that stabilize the hip. Desk jobs, running and pregnancy all change how the hip moves. We treat the joint and the muscles around it, then build strength so the relief has a better chance of lasting.
What it feels like
Aching in the front of the hip or groin, pain on the outside of the hip when lying on that side, tightness getting up from a chair, or a deep ache in the buttock.
How we help
We assess the hip, pelvis and lower back together, because they rarely cause trouble on their own.
Hip, pelvis and lower back assessment
Adjustments and mobilization of the pelvis and hip
Soft-tissue work for hip flexors and glutes
Glute and core strengthening you can progress
Common questions
Can hip pain come from my back?
Yes, often. Part of your exam is checking which one is really involved.
Is clicking bad?
Clicking without pain is usually harmless. Clicking with pain, catching or locking is worth checking.
I run. Should I stop?
Usually not. We change your volume and add strength work so you can keep running while it settles.
This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Results vary from person to person. Sudden weakness, numbness in the groin or loss of bladder or bowel control needs emergency care. Call 911.
