Pregnancy Back Pain

Lower back & pelvis

Every 1–3 weeks, adjusted to your trimester

First visit $59, 60 minutes

As your body changes, your posture, pelvis and ligaments change with it. Many pregnant patients find gentle chiropractic care helps them feel more comfortable day to day. Dr. Andre Okafor is Webster certified and uses pregnancy-safe tables and positions at every stage.

What it feels like

An ache low in the back, sharp pain at the back of the pelvis, pain in the front of the pelvis when walking or turning in bed, or sore hips at night.

How we help

Every visit starts with how your pregnancy is going. We coordinate with your OB or midwife whenever it’s helpful.

  • Pregnancy-safe exam and positioning with bolsters and a drop table

  • Webster technique for pelvic balance

  • Gentle soft-tissue work for the hips and lower back

  • Sleep, lifting and movement tips for each trimester

Common questions

Is chiropractic care safe during pregnancy?

For most pregnancies, gentle chiropractic care is considered low risk. We always review your pregnancy first and coordinate with your provider when needed.

Will I have to lie face down?

No. We use side-lying positions, bolsters and pregnancy pillows.

What about after birth?

Postpartum visits focus on the back, pelvis and the strain of feeding and carrying a newborn.

This page is general information, not a diagnosis. Results vary from person to person. Sudden weakness, numbness in the groin or loss of bladder or bowel control needs emergency care. Call 911.
